PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve differential non-linearity (DNL) without increasing circuit area and power consumption.SOLUTION: In a multi-stage resistor string type D/A converter 1, a resistor string 20 is constituted from a plurality of MOS transistor groups 21 serially connected between an upper-side output end ROUT1 and a lower-side output end ROUT0 of an inter-stage switch 30. The plurality of MOS transistor groups 21 each include at least one array of MOS transistor array composed of series connection of one or more MOS transistors having the same or substantially the same on-resistance value as MOS transistors constituting the inter-stage switch 30, and at least one of the plurality of MOS transistor groups 21 is configured by parallely connecting a plurality of MOS transistor arrays (r, 2r, 3r, ...). When a current is passed through the resistor string 20, a decoder 50 controls the plurality of MOS transistor groups 21 so that the combined resistance value of the resistor string 20 is constant at any time. |
