Embodiments of the present disclosure also relate to a method for producing aroma/fine/specialty compounds from a modified plant. The method may include cultivating a modified plant to produce one or more aroma/fine/specialty compounds, wherein the modified plant includes one or more exogenous polynucleotides encoding one or more enzymes associated with biosynthesis of the aroma/fine/specialty compounds, and isolating the aroma/fine/specialty compounds. The method may include contacting one or more plant cells with one or more exogenous polynucleotides encoding one or more enzymes associated with aroma/fine/specialty compound biosynthesis, and cultivating the one or more plant cells to generate the modified plant.
