PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance silicone elastomer composition which has adhesiveness and is capable of crosslinking in the presence of one of platinum or a peroxide as a catalyst at high temperatures for production of an assembly of silicone-based substrates and itself taking a strip form.SOLUTION: A silicone elastomer composition comprises a polyorganosiloxane rubber having at least two alkenyl groups and a polyorgano hydrogen siloxane type adhesion promotor. Si-H groups become excessive after the crosslinking reaction of the composition, and the type and amount of the adhesion promotor is adjusted so that the potential surface density of Si covalent bonds to an adherend silicone substrate is at least one Si bond per 60 nm.
