The purpose of the present invention is to improve control stability when using a supply valve and an exhaust valve in an on-off configuration to control oil pressure in oil pressure chambers for a pulley on which a belt is wound. When the supplying of oil pressure to one oil pressure chamber leads to an increase in the oil pressure of the other oil pressure chamber, the amount of control over the supply valve in communication with the other oil pressure chamber is reduced so to fall below a control amount determined on the basis of a deviation relative to any event other than when the oil pressure in the other oil pressure chamber increases in concert with oil pressure being supplied to the one oil pressure chamber, and when the exhausting of oil pressure from one oil pressure chamber leads to a decrease in the oil pressure of the other oil pressure chamber, the amount of control over the exhaust valve in communication with the other oil pressure chamber is reduced so to fall below a control amount determined on the basis of a deviation with any event other than when the oil pressure in the other oil pressure chamber decreases in concert with oil pressure being exhausted from the one oil pressure chamber.
