The folding bellows is fixed to a coach end (1) of a railway train and involves a folding bellows frame (3) connected to link portal surfaces (2) of a coach end. The frame of the folding bellows is connected by a welding seam (5) to the link portal surfaces. Staged welding is employed, with only a little heat introduced into the frame which thus retains its shape. The welding seam is wedge-shaped. The seal of the frame in relationship to the link portal surfaces is provided by an elastic sealing mass.
