Disclosed are a method, an apparatus, and a device for adding a plug-in in an address book. The address book has an open interface, and the plug-in is a third-party application plug-in generated according to the standards defined by the interface. The method comprises: receiving a request for installing the plug-in, and authenticating the plug-in according to the request; after the authentication succeeds, adding the plug-in in an address book; receiving a request for invoking a plug-in function, and invoking the function corresponding to the plug-in according to the user request. According to the embodiments of the present invention, the functions of the address book are diversified, and the complicated operation steps are simplified, so that it is more easy and convenient to perform the operation; moreover, desirable stability and response speed are maintained during running of a mobile device. |
