The present invention relates to the field of covering liquid surfaces (4), and more particularly that of insulating the liquid (4) from the atmosphere. According to the present invention, the covering is carried out by means of a floating screen (5) consisting of a novel type of self-positioning float (1). The floating screen (5) according to the invention consists of floats (1) which, once placed on the surface of the liquid (4), substantially cover said surface in its entirety. Said novel floats (1), the number of which is dependent on the surface of liquid (4) to be covered, form a screen (5) that is likely to reposition same to form a screen after movements of said liquid (4) following a phase of fast or moderate agitation. |
