The invention relates to the provision of a diving suit which typically is a dry suit and which is formed from a sheet material which comprises an outer layer (16), an intermediate layer(20)and an inner layer (24). The inner layer is applied as a non woven material coating on a surface of the intermediate layer which faces inwardly when the suit is worn and acts as a barrier to the ingress of liquid inside the suit from the external surface of the suit. Tape can also be applied along seams of the suit to seal the stitchlines.
