The present invention relates to the use of antioxidants for preventing or treating nephrotic syndrome, and a fact that antioxidants of EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), vitamin C, or probucol can prevent or treat the nephrotic syndrome by the p130Cas inhibitory activity of PAN has been confirmed. Thus, the present invention relates to: a pharmaceutical composition containing the antioxidants as active ingredients for treating or preventing nephrotic syndrome; a pharmaceutical composition containing a substance increasing protein or mRNA expression of the p130Cas and inhibiting an activity of the PAN (puromycin aminonucleoside) as an active ingredient for treating or preventing the nephrotic syndrome; and a method for treating the nephrotic syndrome in species except human comprising a step for administering EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), vitamin C, or probucol to the species having the nephrotic syndrome except human. |
