PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for production of hydrocarbon which prevent adhesion of wax to a condenser of a gas-liquid separator in an unsteady operation.SOLUTION: A production apparatus for hydrocarbon is provided with a gas-liquid separator 36 which cools hydrocarbon drawn from a gas phase portion 82 of a reactor 30 to liquefy a part of the hydrocarbon so as to execute gas-liquid separation. A filler layer 93 is provided in the middle part of a gas-liquid separation tank 85b of a second gas-liquid separation unit 85, and there is provided a second return line 85e which returns the heavy fraction of light oil drawn from the bottom part of the gas-liquid separation tank 85b to the filler layer 93 or the top side relative to the filler layer 93. There is also provided a first return line 91 which returns the light fraction of the light oil introduced into a gas-liquid separation tank 86b of a first gas-liquid separation unit 86 from the bottom part of the gas-liquid separation tank 86b to between the top side of the second gas-liquid separation unit 85 relative to the return position of the second return line 85e and the point immediately before a condenser 85a of the first gas-liquid separation unit 86.
