<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine which is capable of improving washing efficiency of laundry and for which a reduction of power consumption is expected.SOLUTION: The washing machine includes: a washing tub in which laundry is accommodated, a water flow generating motor for generating a water flow in the washing tub; and control means for ON/OFF driving the water flow generating motor in the forward and backward direction alternatively by repeating a normal rotation, a stop, a reverse rotation, and a stop. An OFF time period is set in such a manner that the control means performs ON driving of the water flow generating motor to rotate the laundry in a direction opposite to the direction of the inertial rotation of the laundry at the time point where the movement of the laundry inertially rotating in the washing tub in an OFF time period substantially stops.</p> |
