The present application relates to a method and an apparatus for producing graphite oxide, the method comprising: producing a graphite slurry comprising graphite and sulfuric acid; producing graphite oxide slurry by injecting an oxidizing agent into the graphite slurry to oxidize the graphite; mixing a hydrogen peroxide solution into the graphite oxide slurry; and obtaining graphite oxide from the graphite oxide slurry by means of a filtration membrane apparatus.
