METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING AREA OF IP ADDRESS

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for determining an area of an IP address. The method comprises: acquiring an account set of accounts used by a positioning terminal to log in to an application server by using a target IP address; determining a position of a positioning terminal corresponding to each account in the account set; and making statistics according to the determined position of each positioning terminal to calculate an area of each positioning terminal, and obtaining, according to the area of each positioning terminal, an area of the target IP address. By using the present invention, an area of an IP address can be determined more precisely according to demands, so that information of an area of a user can be pushed to the user more precisely according to the IP address when an application, such as message pushing, is executed.
