PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that can reduce damage to a fixing roller while improving heat efficiency, even when a heating roller is separated from the fixing roller to prevent heat transfer.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes: a fixing member that heats a recording medium; a heating unit 153 that is provided in contact with a part of the fixing member to heat the fixing member; a fixing opposing member that applies pressure to the recording medium with the fixing member when the fixing member heated by the heating unit 153 is at a predetermined temperature or more, and is separated from the fixing member when the fixing member heated by the heating unit is not at the predetermined temperature or more; and a rotation control unit that rotates the fixing member, in which the rotation control unit has a heat capacity smaller than a heat capacity of the fixing opposing member. |
