The invention relates to an injection system and a control method for an injection system, the injection system comprising at least one injection valve (2) for injecting fuel into an internal combustion engine (3), wherein a closing element (6) of the injection valve (2) is moved in recurring injection cycles in such a way that the closing element hits an upper stop (9) at an actual opening time (OPP2) and/or hits in a closing position (8) at an actual closing time (OPP4) and thereby triggers a characteristic signal of a sensor element (7) of the injection valve (2), wherein a signal course of the sensor element (7) over time is detected and a part of the signal course contained in a searching time period (F, F1, F2) of the injection system is examined, wherein a searching method is performed in subsequent injection cycles if the characteristic signal is not detected in said part of the signal course over time. |
