497,139. Magnets. BOSCH GES., R. June 16, 1938, No. 17884. Convention date, June 16, 1937. [Class 35] The casing of an ignition magneto having a fixed armature has two separate chambers in one of which the armature is accommodated and surrounded with insulating material. A sheet of insulating material b divides the casing a into a lower chamber containing a rotary magnet and an upper chamber housing the armature e. The space between the armature windings c and the casing is entirely filled with an insulating material d such as asphalt which can be poured in as a fluid and which subsequently solidifies or becomes sufficiently viscous to retain the armature in position without additional securing means. As shown, the ends of the armature core may be rounded to fit recesses f in the polepieces g. The primary and secondary windings may be separately wound and spaced from each other by the insulating material which flows between them. |
