Method of die cutting comprising providing a cutting die 10, a work piece 20 and a first polymer film 30 between die 10 and work piece 20 and pressing them together with first film 30 between them. A portion of first film 30 may project though cut work piece 20. Cut work piece 20 may be removed from first film 30 and may comprise apertures. A second polymer film 40 may be provided and films 30, 40 may be pressed together. Films 30, 40 may be bonded during pressing, encapsulating a portion of work piece 20. Films 30, 40 may have identical compositions, which may be a sheet of homogenous material, and may be both provided by a single folded sheet of polymer. Films 30, 40 may form an envelope around work piece 20. Films 30, 40 may be a cast or blow film. Work piece 20 may be paper, card, fibrous web, fabric and/or foodstuffs. A laminate comprising a first polymer film 30 and a work piece 20 is also disclosed. Work piece 20 has incisions and film 30 is embossed such that it extends through work piece 20 at the incisions. |
