The present invention relates to a water pipe leak detection device and a method of processing a leak signal for leak detection. The water pipe leak detection device detects a leak in the water pipe by an access hole formed to have a portion of the water pipe exposed to the outside at multiple parts along the water pipe at a ground in which the water pipe is buried. The water pipe leak detection device includes a sensor module disposed at one side of the water pipe exposed to the outside through the access hole to detect leak vibration; and a terminal receiving information on the leak vibration measured by the sensor module to determine a position in which a leak occurred, thereby minimizing the battery use of a leak detection sensor and detecting leak of tap water in real time to accurately and promptly determine a position in which a leak occurred.
