<p>PURPOSE: A transportation card terminal comprising an advertisement display unit and an advertisement method using the transportation card terminal are provided to add an advertisement function to the transportation card terminal, thereby reducing system construction costs. CONSTITUTION: A control unit (26) displays an advertisement of an advertisement information database (28) through a display unit (22) by a control signal of a separate operation switch or a vehicle driver. The control unit transmits and receives data to a transportation card through a radio frequency (RF) signal processing unit (25). The control unit determines whether or not a passenger approves the transportation card by using the information of a card number approval database (29). The control unit stops displaying advertisement information; displays the information for transportation card usage approval during a predetermined time; and displays the advertisement information after passing the predetermined time. The control unit stores a set of transaction approval information in a transaction approval card information memory (35) when the passenger uses the transportation card.
