METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING VIDEO CONFERENCE SERVICE

Provided are a method and an apparatus for providing a video conference service. The apparatus for providing the video conference service according to the present invention provides the video conference service between a first user terminal that uses a telepresence system and establishes a telepresence video conference and a second user terminal that uses an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) network through a following method. The method comprises the steps of: (a) establishing a session between the first and second user terminals if a request for the video conference with the second user terminal is received from the first user terminal; (b) establishing a ControLling mUltiple streams for tElepresence (CLUE) channel with the first user terminal to receive and store information of multimedia streams in the video conference from the first user terminal; and (c) transmitting the multimedia stream to the second user terminal based on the stored information. In (a) step, a session initiation protocol (SIP) and a session description protocol (SDP) of a signaling message included in the request for the received video conference are modified to match with the IMS network and transmitted to the second user terminal.
