The present invention relates to a probe for sensing gamma rays using a Cherenkov effect and a burnup identifying system of a spent nuclear fuel assembly using the same. The probe for sensing the gamma rays using the Cherenkov effect according to the embodiment of the present invention includes an optical fiber which emits light by itself by reacting to the gamma rays, scatters which surround the optical fiber to improve the luminous efficiency of the optical fiber by the Cherenkov effect, and a collimator.
