Device and method for monitoring the state of a roller bearing

The device has a vibration sensor (6) detecting oscillations of a signal during an operation of a rolling bearing (1). The vibration sensor outputs threshold value (13) information over a rolling bearing state in diagnosis electronics (8). A sound emission sensor (7) e.g. acoustic emission sensor, piezoelectric sensor and/or sensor including a micro-electrical-mechanical system, is provided with the vibration sensor to bear noises generated during plastic deformation of the rolling bearing. The sound emission sensor and the vibration sensor are formed in a housing. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring state of a rolling bearing.
