An uplink scheduling apparatus in a broadband wireless communication system and a method therefor are provided to schedule an uplink, thereby preventing data transmission delay of a logical channel having lower priority. A deadline checker(206) checks a deadline during data mapping of a high priority logical channel. The deadline is a storage time of an SDU(Service Data Unit) included in a logical channel of the next priority. A priority variable checker(208) checks a priority variable increasing priority of an expired SDU. When the amount of data of the logical channel having high priority is larger than transfer power, a scheduling controller changes priority of the expired SDU included in the logical channel of the next priority when data of the logical channel is mapped in a transfer channel as much as the amount of the transfer power. |
