PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored resin composition for electrodeposition coating giving color, light reflection property, thermal conductivity, heat dissipation and insulation property even to a complicated and complex shape, a water-based electrodeposition coating, a coating method and a coated article thereof. SOLUTION: The resin composition comprises ceramic fine particles having thermal conductivity and insulation property, a color pigment and a hydrophilic resin containing an acidic group or a hydrophilic resin containing a basic group. In the colored resin composition for electrodeposition coating, 5-40 wt.% of the ceramic fine particles having thermal conductivity and insulation property, 5-50 wt.% of the color pigment and 10-90 wt.% of the hydrophilic resin containing the acidic group or the hydrophilic resin containing the basic group are formulated relative to the whole weight of the resin composition. In the water-based electrodeposition coating, the resin composition is dispersed in water containing a basic neutralizing agent or an acidic neutralizing agent and coating is possible on a solid having electric conductivity.
