<p>Curtain-application unit (1) for coating e.g. a moving paper- or other fibrous web with at least one liquid to pasty application medium by a machine for producing and/or processing, comprises: a machine-operated curtain applicator head (3) arranged above the fibrous web with an application medium-distributing chamber (4); an outlet opening (5) to discharge the medium; a curtain (7) falling down due to the gravity of the web; and at least one collecting channel located at least below the edges of the web to collect the application medium and/or its parts emerging via the edges of the web. Curtain-application unit (1) for coating a moving paper-, cardboard- or other fibrous web with at least one liquid to pasty application medium by a machine for producing and/or processing, comprises: a machine-operated curtain applicator head (3) arranged above the fibrous web with an application medium-distributing chamber (4); an outlet opening (5) for discharging the application medium in the form of a single- or multiple layers; a curtain (7) falling down due to the gravity of the fibrous web; and at least one collecting channel located at least below the edges of the fibrous web to collect the application medium and/or its parts emerging via the edges of the fibrous web, where the collecting channel is optionally associated with a collecting plate located below the fibrous web, and the collecting plate is applied with a cooling fluid. An independent claim is also included for a collecting device for an application medium thrown off from the edge of the curtain during its coating by the machine for producing and/or processing the moving paper-, cardboard- or other fibrous web.</p> |
