A method of handling data comprises a data-processing apparatus (30 in Figure 1): receiving 160 data from a data server (20 in Figure 1) in a single shot; performing a management check 170, 180, 190 on the data, in which the data is checked for compliance with at least one criterion; recording 200 the data and the results of the management check; identifying at least one recipient 210 for the data; processing 220 the data to conform it to at least one requirement of each identified recipient; delivering 230 the processed data to the recipient. The single shot may not be resent or acknowledged as successfully transferred. The management check may include checking for a valid format of the data, checking that the data does not contain a virus or malware, and checking that the data does not contain particular blacklisted words. The data may initially be sent to the data server from a vehicle such as an aircraft. The processing of the data for the recipient may include processing what the data contains or how the data is presented. |
