Method and device for sieving out particles

The method involves utilizing a film or a plate as a cover. Longitudinal extension of a particle is larger than an aperture of a screen (18) forms a screen surface. Longitudinal extension of another particle (20) is same or smaller than the aperture of the screen. The film is applied on the particles by gravitation effect. The film or the plate is pivotable transverse to a conveying direction of a granulate material on the screen surface such that adjustment of a gap running between the screen surface and the cover is independent of size and/or form of the particles. The material e.g. silicon dioxide, is used as base material for the production of quartz, glasses and ceramic materials such as silicon carbide, aluminum oxide and silicon nitride. An independent claim is also included for a device for screening of particles from a granulate material.
