The present invention relates to a method and a system for network separation and, more specifically, to a method which comprises the steps of: 1) requesting access to a corresponding network by a client; 2) requesting MAC address by an access switch and receiving the MAC address from the client; 3) requesting MAC address authentication of the client to an authentication server; 4) receiving V-LAN ID information assigned to the MAC address; 5) allowing access to the V-LAN assigned to the client through the access switch; and 6) controlling the network access of the client according to the V-LAN ID through a backbone switch.
