Disclosed is a method for preparing a silica aerogel powder, wherein added high-priced chemicals are minimized and powder type particles having uniform mesopores and low thermal conductivity can be prepared for a short time through a simple process, thereby improving productivity and economical efficiency. The present invention provides a method for preparing a silica aerogel powder, the method comprising the steps of (a) irradiating ultrasonic waves to silica sol in which an inorganic acid and an alkaline organic silane compound are added to an aerogel precursor solution to perform surface modification for hydrophobization and generate gelled hydrogel; (b) soaking the hydrogel in a nonpolar organic solvent to perform solvent exchange; and (c) spraying a mixture added with alcohol onto the solvent-exchanged hydrogel. |
