The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for identifying a video viewing rating by using a video pattern analysis and, more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for identifying a video viewing rating by using a video pattern analysis capable of enabling a viewer to confirm the viewing rating of a video by synthesizing a played video with text, image, or sound and outing the synthesized video when a predefined pattern is recognized through the video pattern analysis when processing the playback of the video. For this, the viewing rating identifying apparatus which uses the video pattern analysis according to the present invention includes: a video/sound dividing unit which receives video content and divides the content into video and sound; a video decompressing unit which decompresses the divided video and outputs the decompressed video data; a sound decompressing unit which decompresses the divided sound and outputs the decompressed sound data; an image pattern matching unit which confirms a matching by comparing and analyzing the decompressed video data and pre-stored image pattern; and an image synthesizing unit which outputs video data which is synthesized with an image or text by inserting a specific image or text into the decompressed video data. |
