A method for treating a disorder associated with cephalic pain wherein said disorder is trigeminal autonomic cephalagia, comprising enterally, sublingually or parenterally administering to a subject in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of a substantially pure form of lysergic acid amide (LSA) or bromo-lysergic acid diethylamide (bromo-LSD) present in a composition in an amount of between about 50 μg and about 5000 μg.
