The present invention provides an apparatus and method for generating a virtual sound source for monitoring the operating state of a fuel cell stack, which monitors in real time the deviation and deterioration of a plurality of cells in a fuel cell stack during operation, and expresses the results as a chord or different sounds, thus allowing a driver to easily recognize the operating state of the fuel cell stack.

1. An apparatus for generating a virtual sound source for monitoring an operating state of a fuel cell stack, the apparatus comprising:
a fuel cell stack comprising a plurality of cells; a sensor unit comprising a plurality of sensors configured to detect the operating state of the fuel cell stack; a controller configured to receive signals of the sensor unit to select a chord based on the signals of the sensor unit or select a specific sound based on each signal of the sensor unit; a sound generator configured to receive a signal of the controller to generate a chord based on the signals of the respective sensors or generate a sound selected by the controller; and a user interface configured to adjust the type and volume of the sound generated by the sound generator.
