An embodiment of the present invention provides a wireless power relay apparatus for relaying a magnetic field generated by a wireless power transmission apparatus to a wireless power reception apparatus, comprising: a relay coil attracting the magnetic field and relaying the attracted magnetic field; and an overvoltage protecting unit measuring a voltage of the relay coil, comparing the measured voltage with a pre-set voltage, and preventing an overcurrent based on the measured voltage from flowing in the relay coil when the measured voltage is higher than the preset voltage.
