The present invention provides a printer having an apparatus for transferring media, which brings a lower end of media in contact with a side surface of a capstan and a pinch roller when the media is moved forward and backward and prevents the media from being exposed to an exterior of a printer, thus improving the printing quality. To this end, the printer includes: a printer body, storing a cartridge having the media, and having a cartridge storing groove in which a media supplying roller, a first pinch roller, a second pinch roller, a first capstan roller, a second capstan roller, and a platen roller are stored to take out and move the media of the stored cartridge and a media outlet to discharge the media to one side; a cover, which opens and closes, installed on an upper part of the printer body and having a thermal recording head on one side thereof; and a transfer guide unit installed along a longitudinal direction of both inner walls of the cartridge storing groove of the printer body to guide the media taken out from the cartridge and transfer the media to the media outlet, wherein the transfer guide unit is upwardly inclined from the cartridge to the media outlet so that the bottom surface of the media first makes contact with a lower surface of the transfer guide unit. Therefore, the upper surface of the printed image surface can be prevented from making contact with the guide, and the printing quality can be improved. |
