Disclosed is a material transferring apparatus which is able to pile up materials as sorting by kinds of steels, after transferring square-shaped blooms from the materials produced after continuous casting in a condition of keeping a certain distance. For this, the present invention provides the material transferring apparatus comprising a grip part including a frame and a plurality of separated bars separately connected to the frame as placed apart from one another, and grabbing and fixing a material in a hot condition between the separated bars; a transferring part connected to the grip part, and transferring the grip part back and forth between an initial grip location and a preset pile-up location; and an elevation part arranged between the frame and the material, and separating the material from the grip part according to elevation control in order for the material to be piled up at the preset pile-up location.
