Provided is a novel transparent double-sided adhesive sheet for an image display device that can relax strain arising within the adhesive sheet after adherence even under a constraint of keeping the thickness of the adhesive sheet to 250 �m or less and the adhesion surface having a stepped part with a height of 50-100 �m. The transparent double-sided adhesive sheet for an image display device that is proposed is used for bonding members constituting an image display device and having a stepped part with a height of 50-100 �m and a flat surface part on an adhering surface to other members constituting the image display device. The transparent double-sided adhesive sheet for an image display device is characterized by the thickness of the adhesive sheet at a portion with the maximum thickness being 250 �m or less, and a gel fraction (a) at a position in contact with the stepped part after adhering being 10 pcnt or greater and being smaller than a gel fraction (b) at a position in contact with the flat surface part.
