A method to provide an IEEE 802.15.4 protocol using a multi-beam antenna mounted on a coordinator includes: setting a continuous period of a contention access period (CAP), and a continuous period of a contention free period (CFP) in a slot unit; determining a continuous period of a data packet and a continuous period of an acknowledgement (ACK) with respect to the reception of the data packet in the slot unit; calculating a ratio of the continuous period of the data packet to a continuous period of the ACK; and setting a parallel packet reception (PPR) period and a parallel packet transmission (PPT) period with respect to the continuous period of the CAP and the continuous period of the CFP based on the calculate ratio. |
