The present invention relates to an apparatus for preheating a tundish, and a method for controlling the same. The present invention has an effect of stably controlling gas flow in the invalid section of a gas flow meter by adjusting gas flow provided to a preheating burner, by controlling a gas valve by using measured flow of measuring gas flow provided to the preheating burner of a tundish through the gas flow meter, and estimated flow estimated based on the measured flow; preventing the spalling phenomenon in advance by removing moisture included in a refractory material and a coating material by preventing the temperature from rapidly raising by stably controlling gas flow; preventing the quality of a slab from being degraded by not mixing molten metal extracted from a ladle with impurities generated by the spalling phenomenon; and preventing damage of the refractory material and the coating material. |
