PURPOSE: A transmitter-receiver of a base station with an array antenna, and a method of forming a beam are provided to actively detect a direction of the beam by an angle of the arrival of a radio wave for a receiving signal of an adaptive beam smart antenna system. CONSTITUTION: A transmitter-receiver of a base station with an array antenna comprises the following: multiple RF(radio frequency) units(200) mapped with each antennas to change a receiving signal from the antennas to a digital signal; and a beam former(300) detecting a first direction vector by an output signal of the RF units, which calculates an internal area of the first direction vector and a previously fixed second direction vector to determine a direction vector to form the beam. The beam former applies the direction vector to the output signal of the RF unit. |
