Embodiments of techniques and systems for quality of experience (QoE) reporting in wireless systems are described. In some embodiments, user equipment may receive a first value of a first quality of experience (QoE) metric computed during playout of a multimedia asset at the user equipment. The first value may be received at a first layer in a protocol stack of the user equipment from a second layer above the first layer in the protocol stack. The user equipment may provide a first layer report, including data representative of the first value, for wireless transmission from the user equipment to an eNB.
