The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a spring collet which fixes a cutting tool such as a drill or the like on a metal cutting machine. A conventional spring collet is manufactured by cutting special steel such as bearing steel or the like by the metal cutting machine and grinding the special steel, and therefore raises problems of consuming many production hours, being difficult to mass-produce, requiring a great deal of machining skill and increasing production costs. The method for manufacturing the spring collet is provided to solve the problems and comprises a molding step (S10) of molding a collet by injecting a feed stock type mixture with metal powder into a mold with a fixed shape; a grease removal step (S20) of removing grease from the molded collet which is drawn from the mold after being molded in the molding step (S10); a sintering step (S30) of sintering the molded collet having the grease removed therefrom in the grease-removing step (S20); and a processing step (S40) of grinding and finishing the outer surface of the molded collet (10) sintered in the sintering step (30), the internal surface of a tool insertion hole (110) and the internal side surface of a slit (12), and removing a connection part (13) formed on the internal side surface of the tool insertion hole (11) to connect the slit (12). Accordingly, the method is capable of easily manufacturing and mass-producing collets by sintering the molded collets after the injection molding of a mixture of metal powder and manufacturing the collets, thereby improving productivity and significantly reducing production costs. |
