FIELD: machine building.SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a sealing unit. A sealing unit for liquid medium consists of a sealing element from pliable material fixed by a holder. The sealing element holder comprises one or more elements from relatively rigid material forming a sealing surface with the groove for sealing element reception that crosses the sealing surface. The sealing element reception groove has groove-forming walls each of which includes a proximal end on the sealing surface and a distal end. The groove-forming walls serve as sealing contact surfaces. The sealing contact surfaces are made so that the sealing reception groove is tapering to its distal end. The depth and width of the sealing reception groove are suitable for the reception of the sealing element, the latter protrudes beyond the sealing surface at compression to contact with the sealing contact surfaces.
