Disclosed are a ventilation apparatus and a control method thereof which are capable of preventing dew condensation by arranging heating bodies or heat storage bodies in a heat exchange element and are capable of continuously performing optimal ventilation regardless of indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity conditions. The ventilation apparatus comprises the heat exchange element and the heating bodies or the heat storage bodies arranged in the heat exchange element, wherein the heat exchange element includes multiple liners arranged on top of each other at regular intervals; and spacers arranged between the liners and forming air flow paths. In addition, the control method allows to control the air volumes of an air suction fan and an air exhaust fan to be varied and to determine the operation of the heating bodies when dew condensation conditions are determined to be satisfied.
