The present invention relates to a spindle motor and a hard disk drive including the same. The spindle motor comprises: a base member equipped with a mounting unit; and a hydro-dynamic bearing assembly part of which a part of the same is fitted and fixed to the mounting unit. Either the mounting unit or the hydro-dynamic bearing assembly is equipped with a welding enhancing protrusion which protrudes toward the counterpart member in the lowest part of facing parts to be overlapped with the counterpart member in axial direction. The mounting unit and the hydro-dynamic bearing assembly can be combined to each other by overlapping and welding in axial direction using the welding enhancing protrusion as a medium.
