PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel battery arranged so as to be able to suppress the occurrence of damage to a fuel battery cell unit by the shrinkage of a fuel electrode owing to oxidation.SOLUTION: A solid oxide fuel battery generates electric power by causing a reaction of hydrogen and an oxidant gas in a fuel battery cell unit (16). The fuel battery cell unit (16) includes: a fuel electrode (90); an oxidant gas electrode (92); and a solid electrolyte (94) provided between the fuel electrode (90) and the oxidant gas electrode (92). The fuel electrode (90) is formed of a nickel-containing composite material. The solid oxide fuel battery holds the fuel electrode (90) under a non-oxygen atmosphere until the temperature of the fuel electrode (90) lowers to 350°C after the stop of power generation, thereby preventing the shrinkage of the fuel electrode owing to oxidation thereof. |
