PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closure in which a latch reliably engages a striker.SOLUTION: A closure comprises a latch 12 that is rotatably provided in a vehicle entrance 3 so that a striker 5 provided in a slide door 1 is engaged between bifurcated forks 10 and 11 and a striker detection lever 15 that is pivoted turnably about a support shaft 12a of the latch 12 superposably to one fork 11 that has a striker receiving surface 11a of the latch 12 and is urged forward of the striker receiving surface 11a in which, when the striker detection lever 15 receives the striker 5 and superposes the fork 11, the closure rotates the latch 12 in a striker engaging direction.
