<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a library device with high operability and reliability that secures redundancy for fault of a recording and reproducing device by reducing delay in calling and writing of data recorded on both surfaces of a medium while avoiding an increase in cost.SOLUTION: A library device includes: medium storage means of storing a plurality of recording media; a plurality of recording and reproducing devices which record data in the recording media or reproduce it; and medium transport means of transporting the recording media between the medium storage means and the recording and reproducing device. The recording and reproducing devices are installed on both sides across a movement space of the medium transport means and arranged to have insertion slots for the recording media opposed to each other.</p> |
