This mobile station (400) is configured to receive broadcast information including PWS notifications broadcast in a cell (310) from a base station (300). The broadcast information includes at least one of (a) a first information element which, when the mobile station (400) is in a limited service state, indicates whether or not PWS notifications should be discarded in the mobile station (400), and (b) a second information element which, if the mobile station (400) has not received PWS notifications from the Home Public Land Mobile Network (HPLMN), indicates whether or not to discard PWS notifications in the mobile station (400). By this means, it is possible to discard PWS notifications in mobile stations which do not need to receive PWS notifications.
