PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding device in which welding material is applied between work pieces such that the two work pieces are connected mechanically each other.SOLUTION: A welding device 100 includes a welding head 110 and primary elements 120. The welding head performs a welding operation, while moving along an operation direction between work pieces. Two auxiliary sensor members are arranged at the primary elements in the upstream of the welding head related to the operation direction. The sensor members record geometric properties of the gap between work pieces to which the welding materials E1 and E2 are applied. Keeping contact with each wall of the two work pieces, each sensor members are constituted to accept the change of transversal distance between the primary elements and the adjacent walls. This is achieved by the sensor members attached rotatably to the primary elements through at least one pivot shaft P, which is essentially vertically oriented to the operation direction. |
