<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that has a lowered heat capacity, and an image forming apparatus mounting the fixing device.SOLUTION: A fixing device (14) for fixing an image onto a recording medium includes a cylindrical core bar (46a) that is rotated around an axial line extended in a width direction of the recording medium to be conveyed, and is composed of a magnetic shunt metal having a thickness less than a magnetic field penetration depth when a temperature of the core bar is increased to the Curie temperature or higher; and includes: a fixing rotating body (46) that heats a toner image on the recording medium to be fixed onto the recording medium; coils (52) that are arranged along an outer face of the fixing rotating body to generate a magnetic flux for heating the fixing rotating body by induction; and a highly conductive ring member (60) that is entirely formed into a frame shape curved in an arc shape along a curved shape of the core bar, and is fixed and arranged at a position facing the coils across the core bar in a direction to penetrate a magnetic flux reaching thereto upon extinction of magnetism of the core bar into a surface curved along the curved shape of the core bar formed inside its frame shape.</p> |
